Site: The Ilsington Country House Hotel, Dartmoor
Brief:
In the course of alterations at this popular hotel in a picturesque area of Dartmoor, the existing lean-to entrance was to be demolished, and was to be replaced with a more stylish and welcoming entrance.
Detail:
The design was to be an important feature in this case, and a gable-fronted T-shaped Edwardian style structure blended in well with the existing building. The entrance doors were commercial quality white powder-coat aluminium, with the window frames in PVCu. The chosen roof material was toughened glass in sealed unit form, glazed into white powder-coat aluminium glazing bars, with a finial and cresting feature on the ridge.
